Behind the scenes

Wonder how I made this shot?

One flash with a softbox right in my face, and one flash on each side, i.e. three flashes in total. They are all Nikon SB700 or SB600 and they are triggered by infrared from the camera flash using Nikon’s iTTL system (automatically set the flash power). Today I would rather use a light meter I thing, because the autostuff can’t be trusted. Better to measure the light once, then it’s good for the rest of the session.

I used a Nikon D610 and a Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8G ED at 31mm and 1/160 sec, f16, ISO 100, camera positioned on the staircase pointing up at me.
